Maybe it is a miniaturization problem or patent infringement issue. However, with enough bright, innovative minds applied to the problem, a new solution should be attainable

GPS raw data is not readily available to reference. It requires paging through the FMGS MCDU at least three levels to access the information. Something a pilot does not have the time to accomplish in such an emergency. Perhaps an ECAM page could be provided to more rapidly call up and display angle of attack, GPS data and other helpful reference data with a single button press.

And that is finally the point Kenneth: GPS should be made easily useable as a possible back up in such situations, in my opinion...
