Canadian Chief Pilot required for Corporate Oil and Gas Client
The Function
Reporting to the Flight Operations Manager, the Chief Pilot is responsible for a dynamic Pilot Management Team, four regional and two corporate aircraft. Being process driven, you are accountable for assigning and supervising the duties of all flight personnel as well as coordinating flight scheduling.
Based out of their Calgary hangar, the company has a dynamic and growing operation requiring a high level of industry experience with jet aircraft. The successful candidate must be a change agent, focused on building a team committed to reliable and uninterrupted services to the business 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. The successful candidate requires experience with 705 type size and scope operations.
Responsible for the daily safety and operational control of all flights conducted
Accountable for distributing, and actioning as required, all safety, incident and crew reports
Assume Operational control of all flight routes
Manage the day-to-day activities of the flight crews, including, but not limited to, aircrew scheduling, trip assignments, and performance evaluations and reviews
Responsible for Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Management System and Operational Quality Assurance development and implementation
Inform pilots, through verbal and written communications, of changing company policies and procedures
Oversee the Line Indoctrination and all other flight training programs
Accountable for continued Regulatory compliance
Approve payments for pilot expenses and requests for pilot time off
Ownership, review and distribution of the Company operations, training/standards and emergency response manuals
The Individual
A Business or Aviation related degree from a recognized institution
Minimum of 10 years related leadership experience, with a minimum of three years’ experience as Chief Pilot
The successful candidate must be a team player able to quickly earn trust and credibility within the organization
A minimum of five years with larger jet 705 type operations is required
Valid Air Transportation Pilot (ATPL) who
possess a strategic personality, able to manage change and build strong processes
Type rated on a 22000 KG and above turbojet aircraft
Must be experienced with Safety Management Systems, Quality Assurance and Canadian Aviation Processes
Strong understanding of CAR’s and regulatory functions is required
A proven track record for leading, managing, training and developing Pilots
Company policy and procedure development and implementation is considered an asset
Experience with CRJ aircraft is considered an asset
